Police are alerted to an address in Oxie due to residents in the area hearing a loud bang. 

On the scene, the police patrol finds that something has detonated in connection with a residential building. No person has been injured. The detonation has caused minor material damage to a window.

The scene is cordoned off and the national bomb squad is called in to investigate the scene. Technicians also conduct an investigation. 

The initial assessment is that it involves some form of more powerful pyrotechnics that have detonated. 

A person in the vicinity is checked and arrested. It involves a man in his early twenties. He is then detained.

The police are clear of the scene since around 04:30. A report of a crime against the law on flammable and explosive goods and gross unlawful threats is drawn up.
