The police have handled a 140 cases in Östergötland county between 10 PM and 7 AM. No serious violent crimes or serious incidents have come to the police's knowledge.

11:03 Assault - Norrköping

The police are called to a residence in Smedby where there was a fight between several people. The case is complicated as the intoxication level of those involved is high. It ends with three reports of assault being drawn up where three men in their 20s are both victims and suspects. Two of them are taken into custody in accordance with the Law on Public Order and Security (LOB) and further questioning will be held to try to clarify who did what. No one needed hospital care.

11:55 Assault - Motala

The police are called to a residence where there was a fight. A man in his 20s has been hit with a glass object by another man of the same age. The perpetrator is arrested and suspected of not only gross assault but also threats against a public official. The victim is not seriously injured.

02:14 Violent resistance - Linköping

The police take into custody a man in his 20s in central Linköping in accordance with the Law on Public Order and Security (LOB). The man is intoxicated and resists so much that he is suspected of violent resistance and attempted violence against a public official.

In other cases, there has been a relatively high influx of alcohol-related cases during the night, around 40 are related to intoxication of varying degrees. A number of people have been taken into custody in accordance with the Law on Public Order and Security (LOB), others have in various ways been helped to get home, guardians have been contacted or they have been rejected/removed in accordance with section 13.
