Summary of the police's work during Luleå cruising on Saturday:
Overall, it has been a relatively good atmosphere at this year's cruising, although the level of intoxication was as usual high. The rain probably made the number of visitors lower than expected.
No violent or sexual crimes or similar have come to the police's knowledge in connection with the event.
Police have had high presence at Robertsvik together with social services/field workers and volunteers from, among other things, the Swedish Church. Cooperation has worked well. Local entrepreneurs have also had orderlies on site, which likely contributed greatly to the crime prevention work.
Police have had intervention police, area police, traffic police, and vehicle inspectors on site, as well as drone capabilities. The interaction between the resources has worked well and the police consider that the goal of the operation has been achieved as no major disturbances have occurred or traffic accidents that have resulted in personal injury.
The traffic unit has had good staffing and has controlled the entrance roads to Luleå, including with motorcycle police. Very few cases of tailgating or other risk-taking behaviors have been observed in connection with Luleå center.
Some disturbances have occurred in Luleå, mainly cars playing loud music, littering, and similar, but nothing that stands out from the normal picture at, for example, a payday weekend.
Just like in previous years, alcohol consumption among young people has been a major problem during the evening. The police therefore want to send a message to parents of teenagers to better follow up on whether their children are in an environment where alcohol, with associated risks, occurs. A parent or other suitable adult should be available/available to pick up their child if something happens.
Summary of the police's interventions:
Fines: 17
Driving license confiscations: Two due to speeding offenses
Airborne inspection resulting in driving ban: One
Removals in accordance with the Police Act 13: Three
