May 27, 10.14, Summary of the night, Västerbotten County

Here follow a selection of the night's events:

01.50 Wild animal accident, Umeå:
Police receive a report of an accident involving a car and a deer on county road 363, Haddingen. No personal injuries are reported. The deer died in connection with the accident and a hunting guide is called out to take care of it.

01.56 Wild animal accident, Åsele:
Police receive a report of an accident involving a car and an elk on national road 92, Fredrika. No personal injuries are reported. It is unclear how the elk fared and a hunting guide is called out.

06.39 Wild animal accident, Malå:
Police receive a report of an accident involving a car and a reindeer on a gravel road in Malå. No personal injuries are reported. It is unclear how the reindeer fared. The affected Sami community is informed of the accident.

06.55 Traffic control, Umeå:
Approximately 200 drivers on E12, Degernäs, are checked. All are sober.

Other:
Two men were arrested overnight suspected of assaulting and attempting to rape a woman. This has happened at an address in Umeå municipality. The parties involved have some form of acquaintance with each other. There are no reports that the woman needed to be taken to hospital care. A report has been made regarding gross assault and attempted rape. The men will be questioned after they have sobered up. After that, the prosecutor will make a decision on whether the men, both in their mid-20s, should be detained or not.

Prosecutor has made a decision after questioning that both men should be detained.

One person has been taken into custody for intoxication.

Police have also carried out several checks of people and vehicles that have not resulted in any suspicion of a crime.
