Elderly woman becomes lured gold.
Scammers contact and alarm an 85-year-old woman by sending her an SMS telling her that she must return a rental car despite not having rented any car.
SMS:et appears to come from a well-known company, but it does not.
The police urge the public never to call the phone numbers given in such SMS as they often go to scammers.
The woman, however, calls the number and gets to talk to people who lie and say they work at a bank. They alarm the woman further by talking about someone having made a large order of things in her name and one of the scammers then comes to her home and picks up a large amount of gold.
The police classify the incident as aggravated fraud.
