An area around a residence has been cordoned off and technicians have begun investigations on the scene. Investigative personnel, dog patrols, and intervention personnel are on the scene and have begun investigative measures. The current legal situation will be communicated when our situation report has improved. We urge residents in the Mjälga area who have made observations that deviate from the normal or have other information regarding observations in the area over the past 24 hours to contact the police, either on 114 14 (state "tips" in the response for rapid connection to the operator) or to the police on the scene. A person has been arrested suspected of the serious assault. The legal situation will be specified later. We cannot rule out that more people will be arrested in the matter. We welcome further information from the public.

Update: 16.54: During the day, a deceased person was found within the cordoned-off area. The circumstances on the scene make it impossible to rule out the possibility of a crime, and a preliminary investigation into murder has been initiated. A intense work has been ongoing, especially in the search for the perpetrator. The work has resulted in one person being arrested suspected on probable grounds of murder. Due to the investigative situation, the police cannot at present go into details about the age or gender of either the suspect or the deceased.

We cannot rule out at present that there may be further arrests and the work is continuing with full force to ensure a thorough preliminary investigation.
