An older man in Köping was contacted by a person in the evening who asked him to transfer his pension by sending money to another person via Swish. A report of fraud has been filed. The man, who is in his 70s, was scammed out of approximately 15,000 kronor.

There are currently many cases of fraud. They can occur via phone or, for example, via SMS where the fraudster encourages you to call a number. The police are also reporting cases where fraudsters claim that you have ordered goods, taken out a loan, or even claim to be helping you and ring from authorities such as the police.

It is very important never to call numbers that you are encouraged to call in an SMS. If a company - or authority - claims to be looking for you, end the call and call the central organization, and ask if it is true that they are looking for you.

Talk to relatives and friends about this and make it more difficult for fraudsters to succeed.
