Fire in a multi-family house
Fire has broken out in a multi-family house in the Herrgärdet area. It is burning with open flames. The fire department has started the extinguishing work.
Update 09:26 - Evacuation has begun. People living in nearby buildings are advised to close windows and doors and avoid the smoke. Some barriers have been set up. The location should be avoided for the time being, both due to smoke development, but also so that rescue forces can have space and the opportunity to work undisturbed.
09:31 - There is currently no information about anyone being injured in the fire.
09:38 - Evacuation of the residents in the affected multi-family house is still ongoing. Follow the instructions given by emergency personnel on site and make sure to give them plenty of space so they can perform their tasks.
09:47 - The evacuation is complete. There are no people left in the current building. No one has been injured in the fire. The extinguishing work is still ongoing.
09:50 - The police want to emphasize that it is very important to respect the current barriers. The location is cordoned off partly for security reasons, but also so that rescue forces can work undisturbed and be able to extinguish the fire as soon as possible. Not respecting barriers can ultimately lead to being suspected of a crime.
09:59 - The extinguishing work is still ongoing. It is currently not clear how much of the building is damaged by fire.
