Police receive a large number of calls from the public regarding loud explosions in the Boländerna area of Uppsala.

A large number of resources are dispatched to the scene and upon arrival, a seriously injured person is found. The person is loaded into an ambulance. The police cannot currently provide any further information about the injured person's condition.

The police have cordoned off a larger area and a number of investigative measures are underway at the scene.

**A person has been arrested in the subsequent police work and is being taken for questioning.

The person found injured has injuries that suggest gunfire.

A person under 18 years old was arrested shortly after the incident. He is now being held in custody following a decision by the prosecutor.

The police cannot currently comment on the situation regarding the person taken to hospital.

Update 14/5, 16:56

The person injured in connection with the incident died on Tuesday at the hospital. Next of kin have not been notified. The police are investigating the incident as a murder.
