The public called the police due to a man allegedly waving a pistol-like object in central Västerås.

According to the complainant, the man was masked with some kind of ski mask. The man is also said to have ridden a skateboard.

A short while later, the police found a man matching the description. When the man was checked, a pistol trap was also found. The man, who is in his mid-20s, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated illegal threats.

After a decision by the prosecutor, the man is now being held in custody.
