Copper plate stolen from a chapel in Strängnäs.
Sometime during the night between March 3 and 4, someone or several people have stolen approximately 200 square meters of copper sheeting from St. Peter's chapel in Strängnäs. A crime scene investigation has been conducted and some traces have been secured. The police are interested in observations from the public to move forward with the case. It involves large quantities of copper that require a vehicle for transportation. If someone has seen or heard something in the area, they are urged to call the police on 114 14 or leave tips via police.se.
The value of the stolen goods is also significant, with a kilo price of 80-90 kronor.
This is the third theft of copper sheeting from churches or chapels in Region Öst this year. On March 3, approximately 90 square meters were taken from Bråneryds chapel in Huskvarna, and on February 14, 100 square meters were stolen from Oxelösunds chapel. There are no suspected perpetrators in any of these cases.
