An 85-year-old woman in Årsta in southern Stockholm has been targeted by a scam.
The woman received a text message from a sender who claimed to be "Hemfrid" during the afternoon. According to the message, someone would come to her home and clean the next morning.
Since she had not ordered any cleaning, the woman called the phone number and spoke with a person who claimed to represent the company. She then spoke with another person, who claimed to be "police". The woman was instructed to gather her jewelry and hand it over to a man who would come to her home.
When the man later came to the woman's home, she met him at the entrance and handed over the jewelry.
The woman's daughter understands, when she contacts her mother in the evening, that her mother has been the victim of a scam. The daughter therefore contacts the police.
The police will file a report on the scam.
