Yesterday, a 55-year-old man in Degerfors municipality was detained on suspicion of murder. 
A lifeless woman was found at an address in the municipality, and the circumstances surrounding the incident were unclear, which led to an investigation into murder being initiated.

The suspected crime scene was cordoned off in accordance with routine.
A number of investigative measures have been taken, such as the initial crime scene investigation and door-to-door questioning, as well as interviews conducted during the evening.

After the prosecutor was presented with information about what was found after the initial investigations and the interviews conducted, it was decided that the man should be detained.
Directives and which further investigative measures should be carried out will be decided by the prosecutor.
The relatives have been informed.
