A patrol noticed a vehicle being driven on a main road in central Bollnäs and attempted to conduct a check. The driver, however, chose not to stop at the police officer's signal, prompting a pursuit to be initiated.

During the journey, the vehicle in question collided with a wall at the railway station and stopped temporarily. When the patrol approached to investigate the situation, the driver began to back up and collided with the police car multiple times, prompting the pursuit to be resumed.

The pursuit continued for a shorter distance before the vehicle in question collided with a tree.

A person was apprehended at the scene. No person is reported to have suffered physical harm in connection with the incident.

The patrol is filing a report regarding theft of a vehicle, gross drunken driving, gross carelessness in traffic, gross unauthorized driving, minor narcotics offense, and failure to stop at a police officer's signal.

The driver, a man in his 30s, is now detained and the case is being led by a prosecutor.
