Several drivers fined after traffic control in Läppe

Police have today conducted a traffic control along national road 52 in Läppe, in Vingåker municipality.

The traffic control in Vingåker ended with several drivers receiving fines due to speeding.

The traffic control was carried out as part of the police's national traffic week, which is week 11 and focuses on creating a sense of security in densely populated areas.

The focus during these weeks is on roads where many people – not least children – move around. It's about residential areas, schools, city centers, and parks.

Keeping to the speed limit is of utmost importance to reduce the number of fatalities and seriously injured in traffic.

In 30 km/h, a driver can stop in about 17 meters. The stopping distance in 50 km/h is 35 meters, which is more than twice as long. As an unprotected road user, being hit by a car in 50 km/h is equivalent to a fall from the third floor.

Nollvisionen: no one should be killed or seriously injured in traffic
