The police urge caution after suspected fake SMS.
The police have been informed that several people have received SMS messages throughout the day from a sender claiming that the recipient has a package delivery to expect. The recipient is also asked in some cases to confirm their address via a link written out in the message.
We want to stress that you should absolutely not click on unknown links, respond to messages, or call the sender of this type if you are not expecting contact from a company or service that you are familiar with. This is something you should be aware of if you are the slightest unsure about whether you have been contacted by a serious sender.
Have you or someone in your vicinity been a victim of fraud via phone or SMS? Then contact the police on 114 14. Also, remember that you can help spread crime prevention tips to family and friends!
