The call to SOS has been received via Kebnekaise mountain station, but it is unclear exactly where the avalanche went.

The on-duty commanding officer makes a decision about mountain rescue in accordance with the LSO, the Act on Protection against Accidents.

One person is said to have been buried under the snow, but has been dug up by another person at the scene and is awake and able to speak. There are no reports of serious injuries.

The police are to help the affected person, accompanied by people from the scene, with the help of mountain rescue personnel and a helicopter.

There are no reports that any further person has been drawn into the avalanche.
