Just after 15:00 on Friday afternoon, a fire started in a trash can at a high school in Linköping. During the afternoon/evening, a person suspected of attempted arson was apprehended. The person, whose age we cannot disclose at this time, is now held by the prosecutor.

At present, there is nothing that suggests the case is connected to earlier fires at the same school. Of course, this is something that the investigation will check, but at present, there is nothing that suggests the cases are connected to each other.

The person in custody is only suspected and held in connection with one fire.

The investigation is ongoing. Among other things, it involves conducting interviews and performing technical examinations and other investigative measures. Further information about the case cannot be disclosed at this time.
