June 9, 01.00, Hazardous object, suspected, Värnamo

Around 01:00 in the night before Monday, the police are alerted by the public in Forsheda after a suspected object was found at a house in a villa area. The relevant property has been evacuated during the night and the area has been cordoned off. The national bomb squad has been called to the scene. No person has been injured and at present, there is no overriding risk to life and health. However, if you are in the vicinity, we ask you to follow any instructions from emergency services on site. 

The incident is classified as an attempt at mass destructive damage. The police are continuing to work on the case, also in the investigative track. At present, there are no suspected individuals. They will now, among other things, conduct interrogations and search for valuable witness statements.
