The police in Region Väst urge increased vigilance for residential break-ins after several cases of break-ins when the residents were found in the garden.

Several residential break-ins have occurred over the past few weeks while residents have been outdoors in their gardens. The perpetrators have gained entry through open or unlocked doors and have primarily targeted jewelry, watches, and other small items before quickly leaving the scene.

Increased vigilance is now being urged, even when at home inside and outside one's residence. Minimize the risk of being targeted by locking doors even when in the garden, and alert the police immediately upon suspicion of ongoing crime.

If you are a victim of a break-in, it is essential that you do not enter the residence or touch anything. Always call the police first, and we will assess whether a technical investigation should be conducted to secure any potential evidence.
