No one injured after explosion in Ekhagen, Jönköping
03.07 the police were alerted by several callers due to a loud bang in the Ekhagen area in Jönköping.
On the scene, a property has damage that suggests an explosion occurred. For example, damage can be seen on a door. There is smoke in the stairwell that needs to be ventilated.
No one has been injured in connection with the incident. Residents of the affected property are being accommodated during the police operation, and the current property is cordoned off.
At present, it is unclear what exploded, which is why national bomb protection has been contacted for assessment. National bomb protection is en route to the scene, and a technical investigation will be conducted.
The police have a large resource on site in the area working to map out the sequence of events and circumstances surrounding the explosion.
The incident is being investigated as a case of general destruction and gross violation of the law on flammable and explosive goods.
