Sävar, results after traffic control on E4

Under the day, the police controlled commercial traffic on the stretch. In connection with this, a truck driver was stopped for control.

Suspicion of illegal cabotage transport arose. The driver, who came from a country within the EU/EES, drove domestic transports in Sweden. In order to be allowed to do this, the vehicle must initially have taken goods to Sweden, after which there is the possibility of three cabotage transports in the country within seven days. In the current case, the truck had come empty to Sweden and domestic transports are not allowed. A fine of 60,000 kronor was issued to the company.

During the inspection, it also turned out that the driver was not stationed in Sweden, which made the company receive an additional 60,000 kronor in fine.

Stationing means that the driver, who temporarily works in another EU country than where the employer is located, is subject to certain rules. The reason is to ensure that drivers receive equal working conditions, regardless of which country within the EU they drive in.

The company that the driver drove for received a total of 120,000 kronor in fine. The amount was paid.

The vehicle may not drive further with the current load.
