Police headquarters has handled over 70 cases in Östergötland County during the night.

Two cases of drunk driving, Norrköping
At 00:30, the police stop a car on Arkösundsvägen in Norrköping. The driver, a 35-year-old man, is suspected of drunk driving.

Murder by arson, Linköping
At 02:20, SOS is alarmed about a fully developed fire in a garage row in Lambohov in Linköping. Since the garage is located near residential houses, there is a risk of spread.

Rapid Response gets control of the fire, and no one has been injured in connection with the incident. The fire did not spread to other houses either.

Total damage is estimated to be eight garage spaces in the garage row.

The garage is cordoned off pending technical investigation.

The incident is classified as murder by arson due to the extensive destruction of property and the potential danger to life and health.

In connection with the scene, a 70-year-old man is arrested on suspicion of involvement in the fire. The man is reasonably suspected, which is the lower level of suspicion.

Police will continue to work during the day to gather witness statements, conduct interviews, and secure evidence and other evidence.
