Due to numerous reports of scams, the Police are now issuing a warning regarding a current scam method targeting elderly groups.

Several incidents have been reported where scammers contact the elderly via phone calls or SMS. They then claim that the person has an unpaid invoice from Apoteket that must be paid immediately.

Police advice for protection:

• Put the call on hold or do not answer the message if you receive a suspicious call or SMS.

• Never log in with bankID and do not give out credit card information on the request of anyone who unexpectedly contacts you.

• Call Apoteket's official customer service yourself if you are unsure if you have a debt. However, avoid using contact information attached to the message.

People who believe they have been victims of attempted scams are urged to contact the Police on 114 14 or make a police report via the Police's website.
