The police have been on the scene at an address in Avesta city centre since early morning.

A person has been attacked with a bludgeon and was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment. At present, no information can be released from the Police Authority regarding the extent of the injuries.

After an intensive investigation, two people have been arrested and are now detained following a decision from the prosecutor.

A preliminary investigation into attempted murder has been initiated. Further charges may be added. Further information regarding the age and gender of those involved cannot be provided at present.
