
Due to a suspected serious crime, the police have been pursuing a car that got stuck/ stopped on national road 73.
Two people are injured and will be taken to hospital by ambulance.
Highway 73 is currently closed in both directions so that the police can work on the site to conduct a technical investigation and so on.

Highway 73 is closed in both directions between traffic junction Älgvik and the intersection at Teknikervägen. It is currently not possible to say how long it will be closed.
The two injured people are not considered to have life-threatening injuries.

In connection with the car that the police had to stop driving into the guardrail on Highway 73 and stopping, a police officer was forced to shoot a warning shot and the suspected perpetrator has died.
The serious crime that led to the police having to stop the car and the suspected perpetrator/driver was kidnapping and attempted murder.
According to routine, a report is always made to the department for special investigations when the police fire their service weapon, this has also been done in this case. The department for special investigations is an independent department within the Police Authority, separated from other police activities.
The two people who were injured were in the car that was stopped by the police and more details will not be given about the course of events as a preliminary investigation is ongoing regarding attempted murder/kidnapping, and a report has been made to the department for special investigations.
The closure of Highway 73 in both directions will continue. A technical investigation of the stopped car will be conducted and it will then be towed away from the site.
