The general public alerts the police after hearing the sound of shattering glass and a subsequent howling alarm in the Östra Malmaberg area in Västerås.

Several patrols are ordered and upon arrival, it can be confirmed that someone has smashed a restaurant's window.

After a shorter search on the scene, a person, a man in his 30s, is found nearby with suspected stolen goods from the restaurant. The man is intoxicated and is taken into custody in accordance with the Act on the Care of Intoxicated Persons (LOB) and a report is filed regarding theft through burglary with the man as the suspected perpetrator.
