A serious traffic accident between a car and a cyclist occurred during Tuesday morning in Hälleforsnäs. The cyclist was airlifted by ambulance helicopter but his life could not be saved.

Police, ambulance and rescue services were called to the scene and there was significant traffic disruption initially during the rescue work.

The accident will be investigated. Among other things, police patrols are on the scene gathering information by talking to people who were at the scene. The police's drone pilots have also flown with drones in order to document the scene. The car, as well as the bicycle, have been seized for technical examinations.

Next of kin have been notified.
