July 8, 10.12, Found dead, Pajala

Swedish police were contacted by Finnish police on Sunday morning, July 6, regarding a person reported to have been found in the water near the border to Finland.

The person was lifted from the water (in Sweden) and was found to be deceased.

Finnish police had previously been searching for a man reported missing in the area. The deceased person is likely the missing man. Relatives of the man have been informed.

There is no suspicion of a crime.
