At 03.40, the police are alerted to central Linköping, due to a suspected assault in an apartment. On the scene is a man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s who are acquainted with each other. The man is said to have thrown things at the woman. When the police arrive at the scene, the woman is outside the dwelling, and the man is inside the dwelling. He initially refuses to open the door for the police, who need to break down the door. The man is arrested, suspected of assault on the woman.

At 05.30, the police are alerted to the intersection of Klostergatan/Sturegatan where there is a damaged car. No person is seen at the car and no one has reported a traffic accident that could explain why the car is standing with collision damage in the intersection. A report of theft from a traffic accident site is made. No one is suspected of a crime.
