Telephone Scam
Has someone called or sent a text message and tried to deceive you? Telephone scams affect many people. You can lose money by being deceived into logging into your bank or revealing codes/credit card information. You can also lose money, gold, and other valuable items at home.
Police Tips – So You Protect Yourself Against Scams
Hang up the phone if someone calls and you are unsure. A scammer who calls can, for example, say that they are a relative, from the bank, or from a company.
Do not log in. Never log in with a bank ID if someone calls and asks you to. Do not also reveal codes from a bank card or credit card.
Do not trust the person who calls. The person who calls can say that you are about to lose money, or that a relative has had an accident. Do not trust the person who calls even if they have information about you.
Do not let an unknown person into your home. Close the door if you feel uneasy. The police never go to someone's home to collect bank and/or credit cards or other valuable items. If someone contacts you with such a matter, it is a scammer.
Do not leave identification, bank card, or your code to anyone else.
Contact the police. In the event of an ongoing crime, call 112. If the crime is not ongoing, you should call 114 14.
