The man went out yesterday to pick berries. Telephone contact was made with the man last night, and it then became apparent that he seemed to have gotten lost.

The police were contacted shortly before 22:00 on Sunday evening. Shortly thereafter, police, including a dog, were ordered to the area to search for the man. His car was found a short while later, just north of Jukkasjärvi. 

Police, mountain rescue, and emergency services have been searching for the man during the night. He has not yet been found.

During the morning, the police officer on duty made a decision about emergency services with the support of the Act on Protection against Accidents. The search continues.
