There have been a number of residential burglaries during the summer in Jönköpings län, mainly in the areas around Jönköping and Vaggeryd.

It involves a dozen burglaries in villas in July and six in apartments in June and July.

Regarding the villa burglaries, the most common method is to lift the entire window out of the frame in order to then enter the residence. The police see that it often occurs in multiple burglaries in the same residential areas, which suggests that the thieves are present for a period of time before leaving in some form of vehicle.

During the summer, many people are away and it is often difficult to establish a time of the crime. The police investigators do not have much to go on in these cases, even if some traces have been secured during the crime scene investigations.

Here, the public's observations can be crucial! The police urge cooperation and being observant of people and vehicles moving in residential areas that are not usually present. Write down license plate numbers and call rather too many times than too few! If your neighbor has been targeted and you have surveillance cameras? Then it may be interesting for the police to take a look at the footage if people or vehicles have been caught on camera.
