Under Monday evening, the police in Karlstad received an alarm regarding a woman who stated that she had been attacked by an unknown perpetrator at Kvarnbergsparken.

There is no suspected person at present, but the police are conducting a number of planned investigative measures, such as door-to-door visits, information gathering, among other things through CCTV footage, as well as interviews.

We also need the public's help, considering that the incident occurred in a central location and in daylight. Were you in the area around Kvarnberg during the afternoon or evening? Did you see or hear anything that seemed unusual, a person behaving suspiciously or something else that may be relevant to the investigation? – We know that such an event can cause anxiety, fear, and several questions. It is understandable. At the same time, I want to emphasize that we take this very seriously. We are working both on the ongoing investigation and on security-enhancing measures such as police presence in central parts of Karlstad, says the police's press spokesperson Sophia Jiglind.
