The complainant is said to have been called by an unknown man on Saturday evening (read 20 July), who claimed to be from a bank. In the conversation, he is convinced to transfer a larger sum of money.

The complainant is also said to have received a visit at home afterwards by a person who claimed to come from an insurance company. In connection with this, he loses coins to a larger value.

A complaint of fraud is drawn up by the police on the spot.

Police advice to protect yourself

Do not let unknown people into your home. Close the door if something feels wrong. The police or serious companies never come home to pick up bank cards, codes or valuable items. Do not leave sensitive information or valuable items.

Hang up the phone. If someone calls and claims to be from the bank, a government agency or a relative who needs help and you feel uncertain – end the call.

Do not log in anywhere on someone else's request. Never use BankID or leave codes after someone has called you.

Do not click on unknown links. Do not open links in SMS or email that you do not trust. Look up official contact information if you are unsure.

Check which security solutions the bank has as an option. If they, for example, have double signing or time delay for larger transactions. Choose it in that case.

In case of ongoing crime, call 112. If the crime is not ongoing, contact the police on 114 14.
