The police have initiated an investigation into attempted gross arson after a burning object was thrown into an apartment in Visby. The alarm was received by the police at 3 o'clock.

No people were injured in connection with the incident and the fire was quickly extinguished. No one is currently arrested. The police are continuing to work with the information collected through, among other things, interrogations and inventory of surveillance footage.

Update at 13.10
The attempt at gross arson occurred on Styrmansgatan in Gråbo. An attempt at arson also occurred last week, possibly on July 16 in the same area. Then it was a storage facility in the area that someone tried to ignite. The police would like to receive tips/observations from before, during or after last night's crime, which occurred at 3.00. Tips can be submitted via phone 114 14 or via the police's tip form.
