Under Wednesday evening, the police were contacted regarding an elderly woman who had left a cottage and not returned since. The woman is in her 80s. She was last seen at 3 pm and reported missing at 8 pm.

The police officer on duty made a decision last night to call in rescue services with the support of the LSO, the Act on Protection against Accidents. Mountain rescuers were called out. Helicopters were also used in the search.

The search continued throughout last night, into Thursday morning and has continued even today. The woman has not yet been found.

In the search operation, police, mountain rescuers, police dogs and mountain rescue dogs, the Swedish Sea Rescue Society, civilian helicopters and Home Guard are participating. The police helicopter has also and will continue to participate in the ongoing work in the area.
