Police advice on how to protect yourself
Do not let strangers into your home. Close the door if something feels off. The police or serious companies never go to a home to collect bank cards, codes, or valuable items. Do not leave out sensitive information or valuable items.
Hang up the phone. If someone calls and claims to be from the bank, a government agency, or a relative who needs help and you feel unsure – end the call.
Do not log in anywhere on someone else's request. Never use BankID or leave out codes after someone has called you.
Do not click on unknown links. Do not open links in SMS or email that you do not trust. Look up official contact information yourself if you are unsure.
Check what security solutions the bank has as an option. If they for example have double-signing or time delay for larger transactions. Choose that in that case.
In case of ongoing crime call 112. If the crime is not ongoing contact the police on 114 14.
