19.49: Police alarm about a person injured with a sharp object on Drottninggatan.

The person injured is awake and being taken to hospital.

Police have set up a cordon around the crime scene and are now working to gather information, evidence and witness statements about what happened.

The crime classification is attempted murder.

Update 20.50: The injured person is a woman in her 40s. She is stabbed and is being treated in hospital. The extent of the injury is unknown otherwise.

The incident is considered an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.

Police are continuing to gather information. Among other things, we are searching for clues at the crime scene and investigating CCTV surveillance in the area.

At present, there is no suspect.
