July 12 08.30, Summary of the night, Västernorrland County

Here follows a selection of events from last night:

00.48 Drunk driving, Sundsvall:
Driver in Bergsåker blows positive in the police's sorting instrument and is allowed to follow for sampling. A report regarding drunk driving is drawn up and the car keys and driver's license are seized. The driver is apprehended for drunk driving.

01.56 Unlawful driving, Härnösand:
Police patrol on E4, Kittjärn, stops and checks an A-tractor that is suspected of being driven at a higher speed than allowed for the vehicle type. The A-tractor is seized for technical examination. A report regarding unlawful driving is drawn up. Since the driver is under 18, the guardian is contacted.

02.33 Traffic control, Sundsvall:
At a traffic control on Köpmangatan/Nybrogatan in Sundsvall, a driver receives a fine for speeding.

02.59 Assault, Härnösand:
Police patrol is ordered to central Härnösand where a man is said to have assaulted another man in connection with some kind of dispute. The patrol holds an interrogation and draws up a report.

03.55 Drunk driving, Sundsvall:
The police stop and check a car that has been seen driving erratically on E14 near Töva. The driver is suspected of being under the influence of narcotics and is allowed to follow for sampling. A report regarding drunk driving and minor narcotics offense (personal use) is drawn up.

Other:
Seven people in Västernorrlands län have, in addition to the above, been apprehended for drunk driving. One of these is suspected of violent resistance and attempt to violence against a public official in connection with the apprehension.

The police have also carried out several checks of people and vehicles that have not resulted in any suspicion of crime.

Summary from the police's work at the Playa festival on Saturday:
The event has had just over 5000 visitors. A total of 50 people were turned away due to intoxication, three people were apprehended for drunk driving, and three people were allowed to follow for sampling after suspicion of narcotics offense.

Police who worked during the evening/night say that the visitors at the festival have behaved very well and that there has been a good atmosphere with happy visitors.
