Car owners fined for blocking the road.
Lakes around Jönköping are popular day-trip destinations on sunny summer days. Unfortunately, many people cannot or do not want to read traffic signs and park badly. On Tuesday, a patrol went to Tahesjön outside Taberg and could confirm that the road to the beach, where rescue services and police must be able to get through in the event of an accident, was completely blocked by cars. A car had even parked in front of the boom that crosses the road where it is clearly signposted as a rescue route. The patrol starts writing fines and manages to write four before car owners running take themselves to their vehicles to move them.
The same thing happened at Västersjön near Jönköping Airport where the police also had to direct the traffic situation.
From the police's side, and on behalf of the rescue services, it cannot be emphasized enough how extremely inappropriate it is to park in this way. It's about life and health if an accident were to happen, and it is likely that few car owners want a serious accident or a death on their conscience because they cannot be bothered to park properly.
18:46 At Västersjön, the patrol writes out a dozen parking fines to drivers who blocked the road.
