The police are currently searching with a larger resource for a missing man in his 80s.
The man was last seen on Tuesday morning at his home address in Åsa and reported missing shortly after 15:30 the same day.
A picture of the man can be found via the link at the bottom of the incident report. The man's relatives have approved the publication of the picture.
Police initially searched the area around the residence, including with a dog patrol, but without finding the man.
Shortly after 10:00 on Wednesday, the police made a decision to initiate a special incident. This means that the search operation is handled outside of the regular police service, with an adapted organization and leadership. A special incident also makes it possible to release larger police resources without affecting the regular service.
The search operation is currently concentrated in the area around the man's home address in Åsa. We are also checking hospitals and places where the man, after conversations with relatives, could be. A large number of resources, including dog patrols and helicopters, are participating in the operation.
Anyone who believes they have seen the missing man is urgently requested to contact the police.
