The police warn of scammers.

Under the evening, the police have been informed about a fraud against an elderly woman in Mullsjö.

The woman is said to have been called by someone who claimed to represent a telephone company. This person is said to have then said that she needed to make some kind of payment. She is said to have then been taken of around 100,000 kronor.

The police have been on the scene and interviewed the affected woman and have since filed a report on fraud.

If you are contacted in this way, you should hang up the call if you do not know who the person calling you is or if you feel the slightest uncertain about whether this is a serious actor. Do not trust people who call, even if they seem credible and have personal information about you. Do not identify yourself with bank-id over the phone and do not give out sensitive codes or card details. Serious actors do not work that way.

Contact the police directly if you or someone in your vicinity has been affected or contacted in this way.
