A person is seriously injured by an assailant at or near a hypermarket in Norsborg. The assailant is apprehended by security guards and then handed over to the police. The injured person is initially cared for on the scene by ambulance personnel and police before being transported to hospital by helicopter.

Happening is classified as an attempted murder, but the police are not currently commenting on the extent of the injuries or how the person is suspected of being injured. 
Due to the fact that witnesses are to be heard about the incident and other investigative measures, the gender and age of the involved individuals are not being commented on at this time.

The person who was injured is a 60-year-old woman. She dies at the hospital and the incident is therefore now classified as a murder. Next of kin have been informed.

The person who was apprehended is a 25-year-old man. At present, no connection between the two individuals has been established and is the subject of ongoing investigation.

The police have seized a knife that the assailant is suspected of having used.
