Police were contacted at 12:15 pm about an accident that occurred in connection with skiing at a ski slope in Åre.

A 65-year-old man, for unknown reasons, drove into a tree.

The man was taken by ambulance from the scene, but his life could not be saved. Next of kin have been informed.

There is currently no suspicion of a crime.
