FACTS Laser Gunmen
To handle strong laser guns, i.e. laser class 3R, 3B and 4, with an output power of over 1 milliwatt (mW), a permit from the Radiation Safety Authority is required. You need a permit to possess, manufacture, buy, receive, use, sell, give away, lend or rent out or bring into Sweden strong laser guns. Breaking the rules can result in fines or imprisonment for up to two years.
Permits are only granted to those who need the laser gun for a legitimate purpose and only if it can be assumed that the laser gun will not be misused.
It is illegal and dangerous to direct a laser gun at people, vehicles or aircraft, as it can cause serious eye damage and lead to criminal classifications such as assault.
