Good morning. During the night between Monday and Tuesday, the regional police headquarters east has handled approximately 35 cases related to Södermanland County.

22:38. Hazardous object, Nyköping
Police have had an operation in the Stenkulla area due to a suspected hazardous object found outdoors. A number of police units with different expertise have worked on the scene during the night. 
The area was cordoned off and the national bomb squad was called to the scene. By 2 a.m., the object could be neutralized with the help of controlled explosion by the bomb squad. The object has been handled as sharp and a technical investigation will be conducted. The case is classified as attempted general destruction and a crime against the law on flammable and explosive goods. No one is currently detained. 

23:41 Assault, Eskilstuna
A woman in her 50s has been arrested and subsequently detained as suspected of severe assault in a residence in Eskilstuna. The victim is also a woman. She was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment. The injuries are not life-threatening. The case is now being handled by the prosecutor's office, and further questions are referred to them.
