
Several SMS scams in Timrå.
On Friday, January 9, six police reports were filed regarding SMS scams in Timrå. Elderly people are said to have received an SMS from someone claiming to be from the payment service Qliro. The SMS concerned an unpaid invoice and the recipient was urged to call a number.
Most cases are said to have ended with attempts, but one of the victims is said to have lost a sum of money.
Tips to prevent scams
Hang up the phone if an unknown person calls.
Never leave out a code or bank card to an unknown person.
Never log in with BankID if an unknown person urges you to do so.
Do not click on any links in emails or SMS.
Do not call unknown numbers you received via an SMS.
