A selection of New Year's Eve police activity between 00:00-07:00.

Since midnight, eight people in Luleå have been taken into custody according to the LOB, the law on the taking into custody of intoxicated persons, one of whom is suspected of minor narcotics offenses and violent resistance. One person has also been taken into custody for drunkenness in Kiruna, one in Boden and one in Piteå.

01:03 Disappointment, Kiruna
Police stop and inspect a car in Kiruna city center. The driver receives a fine for disorderly conduct for playing loud music.

01:09 Flammable and explosive items, Luleå
Police patrol in Södra hamn in Luleå in connection with New Year's celebrations and observe in connection with it that a rocket is fired into the crowd. There is no information that anyone has been injured. A report of a crime against the law on flammable and explosive items and gross negligence is drawn up.

01:12 Unlawful driving, Överkalix
Police stop and inspect an A-tractor being driven at excessive speed. The vehicle is seized for technical examination and a report of unlawful driving is drawn up. The guardian is contacted.

02:01 Traffic offense, Kiruna
Police stop and inspect a car. A fine is issued as the vehicle does not have approved lighting.

02:38 Assault, Luleå
Police are called to an address in the center due to an assault. A man is said to have been assaulted by an unknown perpetrator. A report of assault is drawn up.

05:16 Vandalism, Boden
Police are called to the center due to suspected ongoing break-ins into cars. A person is found by the police. He is taken into custody according to the LOB, the law on the taking into custody of intoxicated persons. A report is drawn up regarding, among other things, vandalism and minor narcotics offenses. 

Other: Two wildlife accidents without personal injury have been reported to the police. They occurred on E45 Puoltikasvaara, Gällivare and on regional road 94 Pålsträsk, Älvsbyn.
