A restaurant visitor notices a woman that her backpack has been stolen by a man who then left the restaurant. Both the stolen woman and her male friend run out onto Klarabergsgatan and soon spot the suspected thief.

He is stopped and confronted. They get help from another private person to keep him under surveillance until a patrol arrives at the scene and can apprehend him.

The incident is classified as gross theft.
